One of Bath’s leading mixed-voice choirs, The Bath Chorus will record their first CD in October.
The auditioned choir of 80 voices was formed by Bath Music man Grenville Jones 6 years ago and since that time it has performed in Bath Abbey on many occasions as well as at Wells and Coventry Cathedral.
Each year Grenville choses a local group to benefit from his concerts and he has raised many thousands of pounds with the support of the hundreds of people who sing in his many choirs. The Bath Chorus has performed at concerts supporting the British Legion, the National Osteoporosis Society, Dorothy House, Royal Marines charities and Help for Heroes.
Parkinson’s UK will benefit this year with £1,000 already raised. The CD of Christmas music will support the local Bath group as will a concert of Christmas Music at St Michael’s church on Saturday December 17.
On Saturday October 1 The Bath Chorus perform in Malmesbury Abbey with the World- renowned Kings Singers.
